From the president
Rotary should fit around your life, not the other way round
Plenty of people would give their time to Rotary if the meeting were not on a weeknight, in a particular town, over a meal they did not ask for. That is the barrier this club removes. We meet online, twice a month, for about an hour. Everything else is the same Rotary you would recognise anywhere in the world.
What we do with that flexibility matters more than the format. Our members fund and run youth programs, back skills training that turns into a livelihood in South Africa, sponsor a primary school service club, and host exchange students in their own homes. Some of us have been Rotarians for decades; some joined last year.
If you are curious, come to a meeting. There is no obligation and nobody will chase you afterwards. If it suits you, we would be glad to have you. If it does not, you will have spent an hour hearing what a group of people around the country are doing for their communities, which is not a bad way to spend an evening either.

We serve locally and abroad
We back projects in our own communities and contribute to international work in education, health and sustainability, including skills training in Gauteng.

We run and support RYPEN, RYLA, Public Speaking, the National Youth Science Forum and RotaKids, building confidence and leadership in young people.

We support relief
We contribute to urgent aid through ShelterBox and disaster relief, helping communities rebuild and recover after the worst happens.

As an online club we connect members from anywhere in Australia or the world, making service modern, flexible and genuinely accessible.

Siyabonga Skills and Self-Employment Project
Training in three trades for people living in poverty in the East Rand of Gauteng, South Africa: clothing manufacture, welding, and baking. In July 2025 eleven students began the fashion design course.

Primary students running their own service projects. Their current campaign is koala conservation, and they publish it themselves in the Rous RotaKids Roundup.

Di Hall installed as District Governor
Club member Di Hall was installed as District Governor of Rotary District 9660 for 2026-27 at the district changeover in Tamworth. She continues as a member here.

Henrique completes his exchange year
Our inbound exchange student finished his year at school in Tamworth after staying with three host families, took part in the National Youth Science Forum, and returned home at the end of June.

Eleven students begin fashion design training
The first fashion design class of 2025 started at Siyabonga Africa on 14 July, giving eleven unemployed young people in Gauteng a trade they can earn from.

Rotary Eastern Australia Online is a child safe organisation
We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for every young person who takes part in our activities. Members, partners and volunteers must protect the safety, participation and empowerment of all young people they come into contact with, and protect them from harassment and from physical, sexual and psychological abuse.
Every member working with young people holds a current Working With Children Check and completes Rotary youth protection screening and annual training.
